Basin-IS strikes at Turkish state security printing company

The company produces refined gold, coins, metal stamps and passport, visa stamps, ID cards, driving licences.

The strike began following the failure to agree a new collective agreement.
Basin-IS has claimed that shop stewards are not allowed to access to the different departments of the company to talk with members or take part in union activities in the normal way.
The officers of Basýn-Is Istanbul Office are not allowed to access to the company to meet with the shop-stewards and that members have been coerced and intimidated by a very high and strict security rules.
That health and safety conditions, especially the air conditioning system at production level is very insufficient.

That the average monthly wage at the company is very low only (EUR 620/net). On the other hand this company provides above TRL 50 million net profits in a year for the Turkish state.
